Vermont's own Francophone band Va-et-Vient enjoys entertaining audiences with lively and sonorous three-part harmony singing. Irresistible songs from Québec, France, and Cajun Louisiana are accompanied by guitar, fiddle, flute, mandolin, penny whistle, harmonica, and a variety of percussion instruments. Carol Reed, Lausanne Allen, and Suzanne Germain (all from neighboring Addison County) present songs with wry wit and warm-hearted humor, always making sure the audience is included in the song's punch line. Behind every good song is an even better story, one to which everyone can relate, no matter the language! The band loves audience participation, teaching chorus lines and, when space allows, leading traditional dances.
Mikahely hails from the beautiful island of Madagascar, but his music is out of this world! A self-taught musician, he draws inspiration from traditional Malagasy rhythms to create his own unique sound on guitar and valiha (a zither-like instrument made from bamboo). Having toured in Madagascar and Europe, he now brings his music to new audiences in the United States. He is also featured in the documentary “Guitar Madagascar”.
Krishna Guthrie and his band are a hard rockin', folkin', blues outfit based in the Green mountains of Vermont. Krishna's family history is woven into the fabric of American music. From the folk roots of Woody to the masterful storytelling of Arlo, Krishna has combined the elements of his lineage with his modern and eclectic tastes to create a sound all his own.
The Michele Fay Band features original and Americana music that brings forth a comfortable groove of folk, swing, and bluegrass-influenced songs that are woven seamlessly together. Michele’s heart-felt lyrics are central to the ensemble, as she sings with a clear, authentic voice accompanied by guitar and banjo. Band members add ideal melodic instrumentals on mandolin, guitar, fiddle and upright bass. The band’s performances are both energetic and unpretentious, appealing to a wide range of audience.
Zak Hampton on tenor saxophone brings together a talented group of musical friends from across the region to bring high energy jazz music for any occasion. Performing youthful takes on classics, MOOSE CROSSING is the go-to group for the jazz connoisseur. In addition the group performs original jazz and funk music. MOOSE CROSSING was established in 2011 and is based out of Poultney, Vermont.
Extra Stout is a traditional Irish band that has been playing together for upwards of twenty years. They bring all of the variety that Irish music has to offer from raucous drinking songs to ballads of home and county; from slow and haunting airs to rocking reels, jigs and polkas. Six engaging vocalists lend their voices to great songs from Ireland’s rich history, while skillfully playing a variety of instruments. (guitars, fiddle, whistles, drums and, well, you will just have to come out and see them).

The Panhandlers have been around for almost 20 years, delighting audiences around the state and beyond. They play at summer venues, pan festivals, community days, and the annual Prouty fundraising event in Hanover. Come tap your feet and sway your hips to the sound of calypso, reggae and samba as Vermont's largest steel band performs a mix of island favorites and upbeat tunes.
Singer-songwriter Phil Henry exudes the skill of a craftsman and the authenticity of an artist. He builds detailed worlds and characters who speak through Phil’s words, with “...vivid lyrical imagery that captures the imagination.” (Seven Days, VT) The upbeat acoustic rhythm and melodic sensibility and lush instrumental treatment is no carbon-copy of popular or folk radio songs, but is instead an expression of Phil’s individuality and craft. The new album, Chasing Echoes, is an alchemy of Phil’s detailed songwriting and the energy of his live performances.
